Thank you for following along on Leia's doggie-adventures! We are hoping to document this journey to remember how happy Leia was in her remaining time with us and focus on giving her the best life possible for as long as we still have her. Plus, she's pretty cute - how can you not take a million pictures of that face!
A few things to know about Leia: This girl loves chewing any kind of bone, antler, rock, or stick that she can get her paws on, but thankfully has stayed away from our furniture. She does, however, think it's funny to steal clothes from the bedroom. She loves to dive under her big dog bed after walks, the fireplace, and tries to get Loki (the cat) to play with her. Mostly he ignores her, but she wants to be his friend so badly!
She's not allowed on the furniture, but has figured out that the couch is a great place to sleep and watch dogs pass by while Mom and Dad are at work. Naughty little puppy. If she is not getting her way, she goes and sits on her "pouty perch" - our stairs. Her favorite toy is a stuffed gator Bobby picked out for her before we brought her home. She has tricked us into giving her treat bones
As you know, Leia's condition is a tricky one. She accumulates a lot of fluid in her chest cavity, and unfortunately numerous tests, vets, and animal specialists can't figure out why. This puts pressure on her lungs so we will need to try not to exert her too much. As we tick off items from Leia's Bucket List we hope you'll fall in love with this sweet, goofy dog, as we have, and can perhaps share some ideas that we can add to The List.
